Your Choices for Public Transportation While In Venice

Venice offers you three options if you need to use the public transportation:

1) Purchase a One Way Ticket anytime you want (6.50 Euros valid for up to 60 minutes)

2) Purchase a time Boat Pass (12,24,36,48,72 hours pass or 7 day pass)

3) Purchase a time Venice Card (3 day or 7 day pass)

Facts to consider in making your decision:

1) Venice is a small city, you can walk everywhere in just minutes

2) To visit the outher islands such as Murano, Burano, Torcello or Lido you will need to take a boat, however, you can purchase a one way ticket or a pass for the day if you do not have one for the week.

3) The Alilaguna boat (see Venice card) is a direct boat to and from the airport. This boat only stops in a few places in Venice and might not be a good option for you if your apartment is not close to those boat stops or if you decide to hire a private water taxi or if you arrive from the train station.

4) If you decide to purchase a 3 or a 7 day transportation pass (only two options offered by the Venice Card) take a look at the additional services and discounted included in the Venice Card. If you plan to visit some of this museums or churches the Venice Card might be worth the higher price.
