Frequently Asked Questions?

Q. What is the minimum rental period?
We require a three night minimum for some of our apartments, for all other properties we require a 4 night minimum.

Q. Is a weekly rental from Saturday to Saturday only?
A. No, guests are welcome to arrive and depart on any day of the week.

Q. What are the prices for periods shorter/longer than a week?
A. Shorter periods are proportionally (per night cost) more expensive due to the fixed costs of cleaning, check-in & check-out, etc. You get the most saving from weekly rentals, "special rates" are available for periods of two weeks or longer stays.

Q. Can I be sure I will get the apartment I have reserved:
Apartments unlike hotels, are privately owned single dwellings in large buildings. Venice Rentals only manages the bookings for the owners, we are not the owners of each individual apartment.

If your apartment should become unavailable for any reason such as malfunction of heat, hot water, air conditioning, gas leaks, water leaks and any damage that needs immediate attention we will notify you of the problem as soon as we became aware of it.

Q. Is the rent all inclusive?
A. All prices are fully inclusive of gas, electricity (including air-conditioning and internet access where available), bed linens and towels, final cleaning and check-in up until 8:00 p.m. There are no hidden extras to pay.

Rentals over 7 nights include a bed linen and towel change during your stay.

Telephone charges, where applicable, are extra.

Q. Can I get maid service?
A. Yes, maid service is available on request. Just ask when you make your booking and we'll be delighted to give you full details.

Q. What is "Ground floor" versus "First floor"?
A. The 'Ground floor' is an apartment right off of the street level, the next floor up being 'First floor'...and so on.

Q. What will there be in the apartment?
A. This may vary from apartment to apartment, generally you will find all of your needs to make meals such as dishware, cutlery, glasses, cooking equipment and utensils as well as sugar and condiments.

We will also be happy to satisfy your special requests for food, wine etc.
Just ask about our Food Shopping Service.

Q. Do you have any favorite restaurants?
A. Yes, this will be included in the information file at the apartment together with a map of Venice, vaporetto routes, and other documents you will find useful.

Q. Do you have an office in Venice?
A. Yes, we are based on Lido and can be reached on our office or cell line most of the day. In case of emergency we can be contacted at anytime outside of normal office hours. Details of emergency contact telephone numbers will be provided when booking.

ARRIVAL INFORMATION

Q. How do I find my apartment?
A. We will meet you at the nearest boat stop and walk you to your apartment so that you don't get lost! You will get instructions upon booking.

We will give you keys, show you the ins and outs of the apartment, answer any questions you may have and give you all the assistance you should need.

Q. Where do I check out?
A. At the property. When leaving one of our representatives will be there to collect keys etc. unless other arrangements have been made upon your checking in.

Q. How do I get to my apartment from the airport and how long will it take?
A. You will receive detailed instructions on how to arrive in Venice when you book your apartment with us. Please bear in mind that the water bus service (known as the ‘vaporetto’ system) does not serve Venice’s Marco Polo Airport or Treviso Airport (which is served by the airlines Ryanair and Transavia). The following options are available, depending on which airport you are flying into:

From Marco Polo Airport (www.veniceairport.it)
The easiest and, we think, the most memorable way into Venice if arriving at Marco Polo is by private water taxi. This can either be booked through us or found directly at the airport. You will be taken directly to your apartment where you will meet one of our representatives.

Although this is the more expensive option, it is also the most convenient.

Alternatively you can take a road taxi or the bus (see www.actv.it and www.atvo.it for timetables) to Piazzale Roma. From Piazzale Roma you may choose either to walk or take the water bus (the vaporetto) to the stop closest to your apartment. (The most convenient vaporetto stop for your apartment can be found in the apartment description on this website).

From Marco Polo Airport it will take approximately 25 minutes by water taxi and about an hour by other means of transport.

From Treviso (Canova) Airport (www.trevisoairport.it)
Please note that Treviso Airport (with its Ryanair and Transavia flights) is situated inland and is therefore not served by water taxis, the Alilaguna boat service or the water bus (vaporetto) system.

There is, however, a regular ATVO coach service which links this airport with Venice and usually coincides with flights. See www.atvo.it for timetables. The journey from Treviso Airport to Piazzale Roma takes around 1 hour 10 minutes. From there you may choose either to walk or take the water bus (the vaporetto) closest to your apartment. (The most convenient vaporetto stop for your apartment can be found in the apartment description on this website).

Q. How do I get to my apartment from the train station and how long will it take?
A. You will receive detailed information when you book but basically, as the station (Stazione Santa Lucia / Ferrovia) is conveniently located in Venice you will be able to reach your apartment either by water taxi or by water bus (vaporetto).

One of our representatives will meet you at the apartment.
You should be able to reach your apartment in approximately ten/fifteen minutes by water taxi and thirty minutes by water bus (vaporetto).

Q. What time can I check in and out?
A. Check-in is from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. daily (It may be possible to arrange different check-in times upon request at the time of booking but after 8:00 p.m. there is a surcharge of € 50,00 until midnight). We kindly ask you to check out by 10:00 a.m. in order that we may prepare the apartment for the next arrival.

PAYMENT

Q. How do I pay?
